“Georgina Gavardina and the Museum’s Stories” is an activity designed for middle-school students (3rd and 4th years of primary school). This activity is divided into two distinct parts. During the first half of the activity, Georgina Gavardina, a professional story researcher, will tell students three fascinating stories that feature characters from the Museum’s works: the famous lioness of Girona, the majestic knight Jofre Gilabert de Cru\u00eflles and the 19th-century painting called Homestead<\/em> . <\/p>\n\n

Through storytelling techniques, the educator will use these stories to make students notice that museums are living places where many things happen. This first part of the activity will have graphic support material (illustrations of the stories) and all the necessary materials to encourage student participation. In the second part of the activity, students will form teams and will have to make up their own story. Using magnetized figures of characters from the Museum (a farmer, a queen, a dragon and a mermaid) they will have to place the characters in a space and time and create a story with the traditional structure of approach, climax and denouement. <\/p>\n\n
