On March 19th, a new exhibition will be inaugurated at the National Art Museum of Catalonia, and four pieces from the Art Museum will be present.<\/p>\n\n

It is an encolpium<\/a><\/em> from the 7th-8th century, a portable altar<\/a> from the 10th century, a capital<\/a> from 1150-1200, and a relief<\/a> by the Master of Cabestany, all pieces from the Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes. The pieces will form part of the exhibition ” Sant Pere de Rodes and the Master of Cabestany: the construction of a myth<\/a> “, dedicated to the most brilliant and international sculptor of the Catalan Romanesque, the Master of Cabestany, and his masterpiece, the lost portal of Sant Pere de Rodes, in Port de la Selva (1160-1170). <\/p>\n\n

The exhibition explores the figure of this itinerant artist – active between Tuscany, the French Midi, Catalonia and Navarre – and the numerous questions that still surround his career and his art.<\/p>\n\n
