Enric Ansesa is one of the leading figures in contemporary Catalan art. With a body of work that places him on the margins of most of his colleagues, this Girona native embraced black and abstraction in the mid-seventies and has not stopped until he has turned them into a hallmark of his work. A career spanning more than five decades in the world of the arts that the networked production of the main exhibition spaces in our city has allowed to be presented globally. <\/p>\n\n
The Art Museum adds to this recognition with the exhibition CAMINS, which it has presented from December 5, 2020 to April 5, 2021, and constitutes a journey through the most intimate part of the artist that opens the door to his creative process. An evolution in the open through 48 creations, in the format that he has worked on the most, accompanied by conceptual and everyday objects. Many of them, paintings and sculptures, come from his studio, and as part of his universe, they act as assistants of total complicity every time Ansesa begins a new project. <\/p>\n\n
The edition has been promoted by the four exhibition centers – El B\u00f2lit_StNicolau, the Art Museum, the House of Culture and the History Museum – and has brought together three institutions: the Girona City Council, the Girona Provincial Council and the Generalitat de Catalunya.<\/p>\n\n
The catalogue, in addition to the text by the curator, Toni \u00c1lvarez de Arana, which introduces the different exhibitions and offers an extensive biographical summary of the artist, adds the most personal vision of Joaquim Nadal, which evokes moments of a shared childhood; critical assessments of his work and its evolution, from the beginning, with the reflections of Narc\u00eds Selles and M. Llu\u00efsa Faxedas, and a reading of his most recent work through Gl\u00f2ria Bosch.<\/p>\n\n
Each of the authors’ contributions serves as a preliminary and frames the cataloging of the works participating in the different exhibitions. A collection of images of each of the works participating in the exhibitions occupies the bulk of the catalog and adds to its attractiveness. The publication, of 253 pages, concludes with a long biography of the artist, edited by Toni \u00c1lvarez, which summarizes in detail the artist’s long career. <\/p>\n\n
