The interpretation center of the Former Saint Catherine’s Hospital introduces the visitor to the hospital history of the city of Girona and this specific care center, since its foundation in the 13th century, the transfer and construction again in the seventeenth century and the current transformation into an institutional headquarters.
The center offers a museography that includes archaeological remains, models and old photographs that help to interpret the growth of the Mercadal district, the construction of the hospital, its historical and structural evolution, and the intimate relationship with the city of Girona.
