Vicenç Huedo (Socuéllamos, 1955) is an essential artist on the Girona artistic scene.
Throughout his life, he has participated in a committed way in the social and political life of Girona and has been an active member of the artistic scene: he was a member of the Democratic Assembly of Artists of Girona (ADAG) and a drawing teacher at the Municipal School of Art for 35 years.
His extensive artistic production includes painting, drawing and illustration through landscapes, imagined realities, still lifes, figuration and portraiture.
The exhibition ” (Res) és veritat ” pays tribute to the master artist who has brought to Girona his sensitive view of the world and the city, and can be visited simultaneously at the Casa de Cultura de Girona, the Valvi Foundation, the Masó Foundation, the Mercè Cultural Centre, the Girona History Museum, the COAC, as well as the Girona Art Museum. The different exhibitions allow us to review the various stages and themes of Huedo’s work: from landscape to still life, from surrealism to social commitment.
Calamicleos . Misery and glory
The exhibition at the Museum of Art shows a set of unusual and enigmatic works that the artist calls “calamicleos” in memory of the poems written by the 15th century poet Juan de Mena, dedicated to the theme of “misery and glory”.
Works from the collection of the Prudenci Bertrana Foundation will also be exhibited, which link with the most surreal and unknown aspects of the artist.
