The Network of Art Museums of Catalonia offers a new online exhibition curated by Cristina Rodríguez-Samaniego, associate professor in the Department of Art History at the University of Barcelona, under the title ” Female Genealogies in Catalan Sculpture “. From the Art Museum we participate with some works from our collection.
The exhibition opens a window on the sculpture made by women in our country from around 1900 to the present day. It invites us to get closer to the production of several generations of sculptors, their individual trajectories and personal contributions, some of which remain, even today, in the shadow of oblivion.
The pieces chosen from our Museum are Female Nude , 1948, by Carme Raurich; Mama (2016) by Tura Sanglas, and Ull clínic (1951-2000), by Emília Xargay.
