Catalogue of the exhibition “Roser Bru. Overcoming the Distance”, which can be visited at the Girona Art Museum until March 30, 2025.
The exhibition is dedicated to the work and figure of the Catalan-Chilean artist Roser Bru i Llop (Barcelona 1923 – Santiago de Chile 2021). The exhibition, co-curated by Àlex Mitrani and Inés Ortega-Márquez, aims to highlight Roser Bru’s Catalan origin, as well as the emotional, but also artistic, bond that she maintained with Catalonia. At the same time, it aims to recover her figure and career, with a proposal that is developed based on three thematic axes – feminine iconographies, democratic demands and humanistic and geographical references – and that seeks to show the dimension of Roser Bru’s work and make it present, once again, in Catalonia.
