The collection of woodblocks from the collection of the old Carreras printing house (1860-1952) and which is now kept in the Museu d’Art de Girona, is one of the most important collections of this kind in Europe. The exhibition presents for the first time a large part of the original wooden blocks that were used to print all kinds of publications. This year marks the 125th anniversary of the birth of folklorist Joan Amades, the author of the well-known bibliophile book Xilografies gironines . The exhibition is a magnificent opportunity to see the original woodblocks in the same space, alongside the corresponding prints.
