Girona Cathedral
Built between the 11th and 18th centuries, it features the world’s broadest Gothic nave (22.80 m). Of particularly significance are the Romanesque cloister and the Baroque façade, with the spectacular entrance staircase. The Museum-Treasury contains some objects of considerable value, such as the Beatus of Girona (10th century) and the famous Tapestry of Creation (11th century), an exceptional example of Western medieval art.
Basilica of Saint Feliu
The basilica, which was Girona’s cathedral until the 10th century, is currently one of the most representative buildings of Catalan Gothic art. It contains some remarkable works of art, including a set of eight paleo-Chrsitian sorcophagi and a sculpture of the recumbent Christ (14th century).
Art Museum
The former Episcopal Palace (12th-18th centuries) today houses one of the most significant collections of Catalan art from the 1oth to the 21st centuries. Of particular interest is the series of altarpieces of churches and monasteries from the diocese of Girona, which include the altarpiece of Sant Pere de Púbol (15th century) and the old altarpiece of Sant Feliu de Girona, an exceptional work of Catalan Renaissance art (16th century).
