The Girona Art Museum joins the celebration of International Museum Day , which this year has the motto “Museums uniting a divided world”, with a proposal of activities for all audiences throughout the weekend of May 16 and 17.

The Night of Museums will start on Saturday, May 16 with a family workshop at 11:30 a.m.: Homemade Decals , by the SuperArt Group, in which children from 4 years old will learn to make decals inspired by the strappo technique, the same one used to extract the Romanesque paintings of Pedrinyà in 1935.

At 7:00 p.m. we will open the doors until midnight for free, with the possibility of living a unique visual experience in the Saló del Tron: two touch screens with high-resolution images of the altarpieces and a mapping projection on the altarpiece of Sant Pere de Púbol, by Bernat Martorell (1437).

On Sunday, May 17 , the Museum celebrates International Museum Day with free open doors from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

At 11:00 a.m. the event 4 works, 4 experts will take place, in which Lluïsa Faxedas, Pilar Giró, Cristina Masanés and Elina Norandi will present, in front of the works, their research published in the catalog 12 months, 12 works 2025 (free with prior reservation).

In addition, coinciding with Temps de Flors , you can visit both installations: in the Museum garden you can see ” Matter and Gesture “, by Xavier Saus with the Friends of the Art Museum and the collaboration of the Museum; while in the entrance courtyard a large red carpet surrounded by flowers leads us to the main entrance of the md’A.

Please note that, due to roof work, some rooms will remain closed during these days.
