On 26 September, the Museu d’Art de Girona will host the 5th edition of Art-Acció!, an annual artistic experimentation day that invites you to explore a material first-hand, together with invited artists and craftspeople. This year, we wanted to dedicate it to stone, a material that has accompanied humanity since its beginnings. Throughout the day, you will be able to work with stone using different techniques, discovering the many expressive possibilities of this material.
When we think of “stone”, concepts such as permanence, eternity and resistance to the passage of time come to mind. But, like everything that exists, stone also transforms. Wind, water and human action continually shape it, reminding us that even what seems immutable changes.
Based on this idea, we want to explore the creative potential found in transforming what we believed to be unalterable and, at the same time, reflect on how vulnerability is also a condition for change, and how marks, erosion and wear bear the traces of a story that is constantly being shaped.
No previous experience or technical skills are required—just curiosity and a willingness to discover and create.
Following the success of last year’s edition, dedicated to wood, which attracted more than a thousand visitors, this year stone takes centre stage.
Millennia of resilience. A day of transformation.
