The Museum houses the most important art collection of the Diocese and the province of Girona, which outlines an itinerary of unique works of Catalan art. The visit allows you to contemplate, in chronological order, pictorial and sculptural works from successive periods and styles (Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Realism, Modernism and Noucentisme), with rooms dedicated to ceramics, glass and liturgical art.

The tour of the permanent exhibition opens with a fragment of an early Christian tombstone from Empúries, and among the most relevant pieces in the collection are the liturgical ensemble of Sant Pere de Rodes (9th century), the Martyrology of Usuard (illuminated book from the 15th century) and one of the most notable altarpieces of the 15th-16th centuries, in addition to outstanding works from the Catalan Renaissance and Baroque. The visit ends with a representation of painters from the 19th and 20th centuries linked to Girona, such as Urgell, Vayreda, Rusiñol, Berga and Bertrana.
