Carme Clusellas Reappointed as Director of the Girona Museum of Art

On Tuesday, 19 May, the Department of Culture concluded the selection process for the position of Director of the Girona Museum of Art (md’A) with the appointment of Carme Clusellas i Pagès.

Clusellas was selected through an open public competition by an evaluation committee comprising representatives of the Catalan Cultural Heritage Agency and the Department of Culture, together with external experts.

Carme Clusellas holds a degree in Geography and History, specialising in Art History, from the University of Barcelona, and a diploma in the Conservation and Restoration of Movable Cultural Heritage from the School of Arts and Crafts of the Barcelona Provincial Council. She also holds a Master’s degree in Cultural Management from the University of Barcelona and a postgraduate qualification in Heritage Conservation and Management from the European Heritage School.

She has led the Girona Museum of Art since 2014, overseeing major exhibitions such as “True Falsehoods. The Art of Deception ” (2019), “Roser Bru. Overcoming Distance ” (2024); as well as museum outreach initiatives including the SuperArt and md’A al Territori projects. Previously, she served as Director of the Tomàs Balvey Museum and Archive in Cardedeu and the Granollers Museum.
