Last Friday, the monastery of Sant Miquel de Cruïlles hosted a concert starring students from the schools of Cruïlles and Sant Sadurní de l’Heura (Baix Empordà), as part of the Museum in the Territory project.
The children had visited the monastery, and from this experience, they created two of their own songs through musical composition workshops led by Ànana (Mariona Castells and Guillem Roma). The pieces also came to life through dance and body percussion.
The concert filled the monastery to capacity. Families, neighbors and teachers witnessed an evening in which local heritage was transformed into a living and shared experience, and where the audience also actively participated.
Museum in the Territory is a project of the Girona Art Museum that aims to reconnect local communities with the works of their environment preserved in the Museum, and strengthen the link between heritage and collective identity.
